Ladies in Jazz who hail from Johannesburg South Africa are a great Jazz band and have played at many of South Africa's top clubs and venues. The Jazz Band Ladies in Jazz have also performed at festivals such as Joy of Jazz JHB, Castle Milk Stout Home Brew Jazz, Jazz Inferno and Jazz for the Lovers. At the beginning of 2005 Ladies in Jazz launched their debut album which was received at national and local radio stations in South Africa.
In 2007 Ladies in Jazz had many outreach performances with various government departments and companies around and outside South Africa. In 2010 Ladies in Jazz opened the year with a bang with the event called 'Night of the 60's which was organised by the department of arts and culture and proceeded with numerous gala events and shows all around South Africa.
The Jazz Band Ladies in Jazz have worked very hard to gain recognition and respect from the promoters, well-known musicians and the media. Ladies in Jazz have had coverage in the Sowetan, Bona Magazine, the Sunday Times and the Pretoria News. Ladies in jazz also had interviews on Morning Live, Jazz Indaba and Connexion as well as other interviews on National and Community Radio Stations.
Ladies in Jazz have been a backing band for Yvonne Chakachaka, Wendy Oldfield & Nataly Rangan and Bomane at the Playhouse. Ladies in Jazz got invitations to perform at the Best Driver Award by the Minister of Transport. Ladies in Jazz also graced the launch of an aids manual by Minister of Public Works. In addition, Ladies in Jazz launched the Government website with President Mbeki.
Ladies in Jazz has had the honour of sharing the stage with great names in Jazz like, Joe McBright, Tamia, Sibongile Khumalu and others.
