The Soweto Opera Quadro started in 2003. The Soweto Opera quadro consists of a group 4 world class singers from the Soweto area. They amaze their audiences with wonderful music through voices and instruments.
The Soweto Opera Quadro performs music from the following genres:

The Soweto Opera Quatro is comprised out of the following singers: Bokang, Edward, Xola and Elliot.
Bokang
Bokang is a tenor. Bokgang studied at the Fuba School of music in Johannesburg. Bokang has achieved the following:
- Performed for school projects and did solo concerts with them.
- Performed in several concerts with the Soweto Symphony Orchestra.
- Performed at the opening of legislature in JHB.
- Does freelance work with the SABC choristers and recorded a CD with them.
- Featured as a soloist at the Rand Water Choral festival.
Edward
Edward is a tenor who was born in Soweto and started singing at an early age. Edward joined a private music clinic and basic performing arts. There he majored with voice and stage acting. Edward sings in variety of music genres from traditional African music to opera. Edward joined Promusica Opera Company as an under study in 1999. Edward was also part of the chorus celebrating Pro Musica Theatre's Silver Jubilee. Edward played a role of First man in Armour and first priest in The Magic Flute for his debut as a soloist for the Pro Musica Opera Company.

Xola
Xola was born in Cape Town, South Africa. Xola studied at the South African College of music for a performer's diploma in opera music. Xola has performed opera productions such asBarber of Seville, II Trovatore, La Boheme. Xola later joined University of Cape Town where he majored in stage production and voice under the tutelage of professor Angelo Gobbato. While in Cape Town Xola performed baritone roles in operas such as Romeo and Juliet, Cosi von Tutti and many more. Xola performed as a soloist in several concerts with the Cape Town Philharmonic orchestra. Xola later moved to Johannesburg and performed at Mass choir festival 2003-2004 under Professor Mzilikazi Khumalo and Richard Cock. Xola became a member of Black Tie Ensemble where he performed several major roles with them. Xola is a full time member of the Soweto Opera. His expertise in music have given him the honour of being an adjudicator at many choral competitions.
Elliot
Elliot started singing at primary school. Elliot later joined a Private Vocal Clinic. Elliot was auditioned by Pro Musica Opera Company where he performed opera productions such as Rigoletto, Un ballo in Maschara and Tosca. Elliot performed in concerts for the SA Police choir as a soloist and toured Botswana, Lesotho and Zimbabwe. Elliot has performed with Soweto symphony Orchestra. In 2004, Elliot also performed at the opening of the gomma gomma awards at Sun City.
